CAN I KICK IT? with Rage Williams

Sneaker week is about to kick off at Blank Canvas gallery, and to celebrate we’re bringing you sneaker stories from the artists of Can I Kick It, in their own words. First up? Photographer Rage Williams.

My name is Will , and I am… a photographer, artist, and sneaker junkie.

I first fell in love with sneakers when… I was in high school and Dunk SBs were the jam.

The brand you’re most loyal to? Nike.

My first pair of kicks were… a pair of SEGAs my mom got me at Panda Shoes back in back in the day.

The craziest thing I’ve ever done for a pair of sneakers is… spend way too much money on them when I should be buying groceries.

Crown jewel of your collection? Either my Air Max 90 DQM Bacons or Air Max 1 Premium Midnight Navys.

The best pair of kicks I ever missed out on were… the Nike Dunk SB Tiffanys. I couldn’t afford them when they came out, but I’m not into Dunks anymore anyway, so whatever.

Next pair you plan on copping? We’ll see what Nike comes up with in the next little while.

Your favourite place to buy kicks in Toronto? The Internet, at my house.

If you scuffed my sneakers, I’d… think you were rude as f*ck for not watching where you were going. Quit being so self-entitled, you’re not the only person trying to live out here!
